Monitoring Usage Metrics
Learn how to check and interpret your bot’s usage metrics
The selfless.chat platform offers a dedicated area to track resource consumption, allowing you to monitor system usage in real time based on metrics such as interactions and sessions. This monitoring is essential to keep your operation under control, understand automation behavior, and properly size the plans you've subscribed to.
The usage area displays clear and objective data about chatbot activity, with date filters and indicators separated by type of activity. The information is updated automatically and can be used for optimization, cost control, and performance evaluation.
Accessing the usage area
Step 1: Log in to your selfless.chat account and select the chatbot you want to review.
Step 2: At the bottom-left corner of the dashboard homepage, next to your username, click the gear icon ⚙.
Step 3: In the left sidebar menu of the dashboard, click on the "Usage" option.
Step 4: The screen will display two main monitoring blocks:
- Interactions: shows all messages processed by the bot during the selected period.
- Sessions: refers to the number of open conversation windows based on messaging policies (such as WhatsApp’s 24-hour window).
Using the date filters
Step 5: In the top-right corner of the screen, use the date selector to define the desired interval. The data will automatically update to reflect usage within the specified timeframe.
Interpreting the data
Costs: displays the value corresponding to resource usage, according to the policy of the subscribed plan.
Total: shows the total number of interactions or sessions recorded during the period.
This data is essential for analyzing automation efficiency, forecasting monthly costs, and adjusting service strategies based on actual usage volume.
Best practices for monitoring
- Check usage regularly, especially during campaigns or periods of high traffic.
- Compare the number of sessions with interactions to understand how user behavior evolves over time.
- Use these metrics to make decisions about plan upgrades, reallocation of service capacity, or adjustments to your bot’s flow.
