Knowing the tool, AI can be applied to everything

We’ve already said it here: Artificial Intelligence is a tool that can make our work easier and it’s not necessarily the villain of the story, some robot who will steal my job. But how can this idea actually be applied in the job market?

To make it crystal clear how AI can impact a company’s daily tasks - in the sense of making a team’s work easier, not replacing it - let’s talk about customer service, which is selfless.chat’s main focus:

Let’s say I run a dental office. I’m a dentist, I own my own clinic and I have a receptionist who welcomes my patients and books appointments. Now let’s say my practice isn’t bringing in as much profit as I’d like, or that my schedule often has empty slots. That means I’m losing time and, consequently, money, since idle hours don’t generate any revenue.

At this point, I decide to hire an agency to run paid traffic for me, so I can bring in more leads and fill those empty spots in my agenda. After all, I don’t really know how to manage my social media well enough, nor do I have the time to play influencer to attract patients.

Great! Now I’ve got a ton of leads. But here’s the catch: at first, campaigns bring in a lot of curious people, or patients who need more specialized care, with questions far too complex for my receptionist to answer. On top of that, I’m now getting thousands of leads a day. My receptionist is just one person, she can’t keep up with all of them! She’s excellent at her job, but the sheer volume of messages is forcing me to consider hiring another receptionist. And all of this effort still means that only about 30% of leads - at best - actually book an appointment and become patients, which is perfectly normal in any marketing strategy (not everyone who reaches out is ready to commit right away).

And that’s exactly where AI and selfless.chat come in! In this scenario, I can set up a chatbot to handle my leads, filter out the ones truly interested in booking, and qualify them. With AI taking over this part of the service, replies are instant, 24/7! I’ll never lose a lead again just because my receptionist wasn’t online after hours.

What's more, I can feed the AI with my own knowledge so that, when very specific questions come up, it knows how to respond correctly. Now, my service delivers accurate and reliable information, clears up doubts with precision, and schedules appointments seamlessly on weekends, holidays, 3 AM… time no longer matters!

And what about my receptionist? Is she going to be completely replaced? Not necessarily. She still needs to be at the front desk to greet patients in person. Some new patients might walk in just to schedule an appointment, and she needs to be there for that too. Plus, she’ll still step in on selfless.chat whenever the AI lacks the right context - for example, if a patient has a very specific question about a procedure they already underwent, or about instructions I personally gave them, which the AI wouldn’t have access to.

So, in reality, AI isn’t going to fully replace your receptionist - in most cases, at least. What it will do is make her job easier and boost her results. The results of your service, your clinic, your receptionist… And this is just one of the many ways AI can be applied to make our work easier - better, faster, more efficient, more accurate - and to deliver the results we’re aiming for.
